ASCA (Asian Society of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia) was founded in 1994 by our patron Professor Osamu Kemmotsu from Hokkaido Japan. The society has since been organizing scientific meeting every 2 years, from the original set-up of a pre-congress event to ASEAN Congresses of Anesthesiologists (ACA) between 1995 to 2001, to eventually venture as a free standing ASCA meeting in 2003 in Korea. Since then ASCA went on its own!

This biennial event serves as a platform for disseminating updated scientific information, fostering good clinical practice, and promoting international mind melding in cardiac, thoracic and vascular anaesthesia, with the ultimate goal of cultivating a safe and effective culture in healthcare delivery.
